[Unit Project2] How to get to school by the Shinkansen

[UP2]   How to get to school by the Shinkansen

How do you get to school? It's said that 50 percent of college students use trains, and 11 percent of them use bus to go to school.  On the other hand, there are few people who use the Shinkansen to go to school. Nevertheless, I use the Shinkansen to go to school. It's unusual, so I want to teach everyone the way!

I live in Nagaoka and use the Shinkansen to go to school, because Nagaoka is a railway station of the Shinkansen, and Nagaoka to Niigata takes just over 20 minutes by using it. Also, the other reason is that I didn't want to leave my grandparents because they are very old and I'm worried about their health. It takes about an hour and a half to commute to school using the Shinkansen, including transfers, so I have to get up early. I always sleep on the Shinkansen in the morning. The Shinkansen shaking is perfect for sleeping comfortably.

[Tool]

Automatic ticket gate

The Train (Joetsu Line)

The Train (Hakushin Line)

The Shinkansen

 [Ingredients]

One train pass

1. First, walk about 350 meters to the left after leaving my house to Miyauchi station.

2. Second, go up the stairs, and hold the pass over the automatic ticket gate at Miyauchi station.

3. Third, go down the stairs, and go to platform 5 and get on the train (Joetsu Line) to Nagaoka.

4. Forth, get off the train (Joetsu Line) at Nagaoka station.

5. Fifth, go up the escalator, and hold the pass over the automatic ticket gate of the Shinkansen.

6. Sixth, go up the escalator, and go to platform 11 and get on the Shinkansen to Niigata.

7. Seventh, get off the Shinkansen at Niigata station.

8. Eighth, get off the escalator, and change to the local line. After that, hold the pass over the automatic ticket gate.

9. Ninth, go up the escalator, and go to platform 4 and get on the train (Hakushin Line) to Shibata.

10.  Tenth, get off the train (Hakushin Line) at Ogata station and hold the pass over the automatic ticket gate. After leaving the station, walk a little and cross a traffic light.

11. Eleventh, go along the road and when you see a traffic light on your left, cross it. After crossing the traffic light, cross another traffic light in front of you.

12. Twelfth, cross the traffic light on the right, and walk a little.

You can go to Niigata by local train instead of the Shinkansen, but it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Nagaoka to Niigata. Also, if you follow the opposite procedure, you can come to Nagaoka station or Miyauchi station. However, you should be careful not to oversleep. There are few stations where the Shinkansen stops, so if you oversleep, you may go far away!

Going to school by the Shinkansen is expensive and hard, but I'm happy because I don't have to leave my family. Also, I have local friends who go to Niigata by it, so sometimes things are tough but I'm doing all right. Nagaoka is a little far away, but please come!

Curry is my favorite food🍛

This Monday, I went to curry shop. The English name of the shop is "MIYAUCHI GINGER-CURRY LAB". The shop located walking distance from my house. Also, it takes 2 minutes from Miyauchi station, so everyone easily goes there. The menu is only ginger curry. Ginger carry very delicious😋 Also, the shop is fashionable, so I'm sure everyone will like it!

This Thursday, my umbrella was broken. I bent the bone in the center of the umbrella because I slipped and fell on my way home from school. Everyone should be careful when walking as the roads are frozen in winter!

School started again...

This Monday I didn't feel like going to school because new year holiday was short. I was sleepy on Monday morning. However, when I looked out the scenery from the Shinkansen, I completely woke up!  Sunshine was very beautiful, so I felt motivated to go to school.

This Tuesday, I went to Niigata Isetan to see calligraphy solo exhibition. It was a solo exhibition of a famous calligrapher named Souun Takeda. I used to learn calligraphy, so I was interested in the exhibition. I was really moved. I felt his works has a sprit.

Merry Christmas🎄

Last Saturday, I went to "Christmas Market", it held at Aore Nagaoka. Aore Nagaoka is a covered square, so we can be done various activities even in winter. There is a big Christmas tree there. I look forward to seeing it every winter. Last Saturday, there was a handbell performance in front of the tree. It was amazing!! Also, I bought earrings at the Christmas market. They were my kind of taste!

I ate Bushe de Noel on Christmas Eve. When I was a high school student, I made a Bushe de Noel in school cooking class, but I had never eaten Bushe de Noel of a cake shop before. I ate Bushe de Noel of a cake shop for the first time this year and it was very delicious, so I want to eat it again next year!

Christmas movie🎥

"Home Alone2" was broadcast on TV this Friday. I watched the movie in English with Japanese subtitles. I have watched the movie many times, but it never gets boring. Kevin's pranks are amazing, but sometimes I feel sorry for the robber. It looks like it hurts😂

Something good that happened to me!

I introduce something that happened this week. Chinese exam result was announced this Monday. I passed the exam!! The exam I took a month ago, so I've been worried about the exam results for a month. By the way, my father took the Chinese exam together and passed it!

I'm taking an art class every Friday. Is everyone taking this class? I'm making an eraser stamp in class. I decided to carve a character. Do you know this character? This is a pig named P-Chan. This character appears in "Ranma 1/2". It is Japanese manga series. Recently, the manga made into an anime again, and I'm into it right now!
